The 24 Le Mans is an annual motor race to test not only driving skills but overall performance, aka team work. In Le Mans, the main character would always be the car until the end of the race. People, including the drivers and the crew, are more like parts to keep their machine stay on the track. In 24 hours, anything could go wrong, driver mistakes, any mechanical malfunction, accidents and etc. In 2008, team Peugeot lose its first position just because of a wrong decision on tire choosing. This wrong decision almost ruined the team's twenty hours of hard work. In 24 Le Mans, being fast is not enough; you have to survive till the last moment. The most interesting part of 24 Le Mans is that several different classes of race cars are competing on the same field for only one championship. Take 2009 season for example, there are P1, P2, GT1 and GT2. P stands for prototypes and GT stands for grand tourers. Though prototypes are faster and more likely to have a chance to win, there is always exceptions on GT class because of their better mechanical reliability. In my opinion, the 24 Le Mans is not about the result but the challenges they have conquered on the way to pass the check the flag. No matter how bad the condition is, as long as the car can go back to pit, there is always a chance for another lap. According to the BBC news (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/8103557.stm), the dreams to an unlimited energy seems fading. Nuclear fusion has always been the most impossible and untouchable one until Iter project revealed to the world. When I read the news that an united project would start constructing an experimental facility for examinations on fusion reaction, I was very excited about that I might have a chance to see the future of an more optimizing world. Though the project was estimated to take forty or some years to be completed, I still was very optimistic about the project. However, the latest BBC news shows the project might be more like a dream since the difficulties, such as requiring higher budgets and engineering obstacles, have not been solved since the project has began. The budgets has been estimated up to almost twice more than the original because of the rapid climbing of raw materials and the needs for more people to work on the facility construction. I would have never thought that global economic crisis could have such a strike on the dream of prrsuing a better future. For me, the nuclear fusion is always one of the nacessaries for my giant robot dream. I believe as long as the fusion reactor has build, to build Gundams like those in the anime is not just a fantasy. Alright, let's head back and talk about the key engineering chalange for the fusion reactor. Fusion reaction is about the temperature of the surface of the sun. Therefore, the material to build the reactor must be able to sustain the heat. Otherwise, the experiment will be like a firework for the worst case. But... Don't worry. We still have forty years to go for it. Let's see what is going to happen! At least, I still got those amazing Japanese anime to fulfill my science fantasy. Btw, CERN has been broken for a very long time. Hope it will get fixed soon.

大學一年級的時候上過一門演講性質的通識課程，每次都有不同的講師來闡述他個人對於社會、經濟、甚至人類未來的觀點。其中一次是闡述和平觀點的演講者，他的口氣平緩和氣，但談話內容盡是偏激的理想和平主義。我對那次演講印象非常深刻，他的演講自始至終都是一種虛浮的觀點，沒有任何現實根據。現在的社會跟他成長的環境已經大不相同，競爭只會越來越激烈；如果沒有一顆旺盛的企圖心與必要手段，只能在不斷的失敗中質疑自我而對現實麻木。競爭何以越來越激烈呢？這個根本的源頭在當晚的演講中是隻字未提的。是人口數量！達爾文的進化論並不是一個理論，而是一個有跡可循的道理。當生物數量達到單位區域內可以容忍的物資消耗上限的時候，勢必會為了爭奪資源而競爭，適者生存，不適者淘汰。戰爭，只是競爭的一種終極形式。人類，可以是這星球最美麗的智慧體，也可以說是折磨這星球最惡毒的腫瘤。就像是癌症一樣，消耗著賴以維生的生命體，然後隨著生命體的生理平衡崩潰而消失。但在這極限到來之前，我們仍舊得為了生存而彼此競爭著成為這星球最惡名昭彰的頭號殺手。也許很多人跟我一樣擁抱著熱情想要為這個星球做些什麼，我們天真地相信科技會解決一切，我們一廂情願地認為研究成功就可以改變世界，我們幻想著成為愛因斯坦的學徒為這世界的和平貢獻自己的力量。事實是，打從相信自己擁有這份熱情的時候所接收到的情報就是被誤導的。片面的資料、錯誤的解讀帶領人們走向與預期不同的道路。如果愛因斯坦知道他的一封建言信即將導致十萬人瞬間蒸發，他是否會在被德國核攻擊的陰影下制止自己的建言？換做是我，不會！不是你就是我！總有一方得要背負著這個道德的十字架繼續前進；無法承擔如此沉重心理壓力的一方只有被淘汰的命運。回到現今的挑戰，能源危機。我不相信太陽能或是任何形式的科技能夠解決能源危機，縱使這是我目前研究的主題。如果人口數量在短時間內無法受到一定程度的控制，地球上資源消耗的平衡會趨近於崩潰的極限，極限崩潰之後最先引發的就是經濟危機。石油危機就是最好的例子。各個國家就像人類個體一般，為了自己的利益出兵打仗只是時間早晚的問題。
